Waymo Illustrations

For this collaboration with Waymo, we created two unique designs for their new fleet of vinyl art-wrapped cars that you can spot riding around in LA, SF, and PHX.

For the first design, entitled “Daydreamer,” I wanted to capture the essence of letting go. Driving in Phoenix (especially in the summer) can feel heated in more ways than one if ya know what I mean. The beauty of a Waymo is that you can sit back and relax, letting the journey unfold, and allowing your mind to wander, explore, and dream. To capture this feeling, I immediately envisioned a bird soaring through the sky. Naturally, I chose the Cactus wren to represent my home state of Arizona.

The second design, I titled “The Not-So-Backseat Driver” is a playful expression of curiosity and observation. This design is all about that feeling of staring out the window and capturing those quick, beautiful moments that you’d normally miss while driving. From the flutter of a butterfly to the intricate textures of the environment, each element invites the viewer to look closer, embrace the moment, and find wonder in the everyday.
